Central’s volleyball team could not mount any offense and had no answer for Wartburg’s attack, as they were downed in three sets in a conference match on Tuesday, 25 – 13, 25 – 21, and 25 – 9. The Dutch shot a mere .057 for the night, compared to a .294 success percentage for the Knights. Mollie Mason led Central with six kills, and Jenna Dille and Emily McDonald both had five. Wartburg also capitalized on nine service aces on their side. The loss is Central’s fifth in the last six games, and drops their record to 10 – 7 overall, and they are 1 – 2 in league play. Central will try to pick themselves back up with a pair of games in Carlinville, Illinois this Friday against Iowa Wesleyan and Blackburn.
