Looking much stronger, according to Coach Cindy Nikkel, the Pella Christian volleyball team snagged their first win of the season in a three-set sweep of Newton yesterday, 25 – 16, 25 – 13, and 26 – 24. Andrea Horstman led the way with 11 kills, Rebecca Horstman had three, and the team combined for five blocks. Coach Nikkel also told KNIA/KRLS Sports the team had a nearly-flawless night serving; Natalie Vos had four aces, and Hanna Vos and Kirsten Vander Hart each dumped in three of their own. Hanna Vos wound up with 11 assists, as Pella Christian improves to 1 – 6 on the year. They’ll be in Iowa City for a tournament this weekend.
