Being one of the smallest schools to participate, the Pella Christian volleyball team came away with a 1 – 3 mark at the Iowa City tournament this weekend. In pool play, the Eagles went 1 – 2, falling to Dowling Catholic, 8 – 21 and 8 – 21; sweeping Cedar Rapids Washington, 21 – 14 and 21 – 11, and dropping their final match to Mount Vernon, 12 – 21 and 13 – 21. In the championship round, PC played a tight pair of sets with Beckman Catholic, but came up short, 21 – 25, and 21 – 25. The Eagles’ record is now 2 – 9, and they are off for the week to get ready for the tournament at North Mahaska, which they have dominated the last few seasons.
