Winding up in the championship ladder, the Pella Christian volleyball team played well in their home tournament on Saturday. In pool play, the Eagles went 2 – 1, with straight set wins over Martensdale – St. Mary’s and Saydel; 21 – 9 and 21 – 8, and 21 – 17, 21 – 10, respectively. Their only loss came against Bondurant-Farrar, whom the Eagles lost to 21 – 14 and 21 – 16. PC’s day ended with a sweep by Valley, 25 – 14 and 25 – 12. The Eagles hit .342 against the Blue Devils, and .156 in the loss to the Bluejays. Pella Christian sits at 9 – 12 on the year, and they return to the courts on Tuesday for a conference match at Norwalk.
