It took just three tournaments for Central women’s golf freshman, Brittany Coppess, to capture her first individual title, winning a weather-shortened Dutch Fall Invitational this past Saturday. Coppess shot an 83, and tied with William Penn’s Megan Rhoads. The tiebreaker depended on the total score of the last three holes, which Coppess won, 14 – 18. The Dutch had a cumulative team score of 354 to finish second, just three strokes behind the Statesmen. Next up for the Dutch is the Iowa Conference tournament on October 2 and 3 in Cedar Falls and October 9 and 10 at Thunder Hills Country Club in Peosta.
