The 79th chapter of the rivalry that is Knoxville and Pella will be written tonight in Ken Locke Stadium. The Panthers are doing something that they have not had to do this season, and that is coming off a loss. The Panthers fell for the first time in 2015 to Carlisle and now face not just their rival, but the number one ranked team in class 3A. The Little Dutch possess a potent running and passing game, plus a very stout defense that pitched a shutdown over Norwalk last week. Knoxville Coach Eric Kellar tells KNIA/KRLS Pella is impressive, but he says there are some things that his team can take advantage of. Pella Coach Jay McKinstrey says they have continued to increase their physical presence on defense despite some key injuries in the first few weeks. He tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that will need to continue against a potent Panther rushing attack. McKinstrey says his offense hopes to continue their growing ground and pound attack after a season high 59 carries in last week’s 21-0 shutout of Norwalk. Our coverage begins at 7:00pm on both KNIA and KRLS, kniakrls.com, and our free mobile apps. Derek Cardwell and Kevin Wadle have the call on AM 1320 FM 95.3 KNIA and Andrew Schneider will be joined by Randy Sikkema on 92.1 KRLS.
