In three meets this season Knoxville Cross Country Coach Michael Splavec is seeing progress on both boys and girls squads. Last Tuesday in Grinnell, his girls ran in a pack which allowed them to be separated by just 28 seconds from first to last runner. Splavec tells KNIA/KRLS Sports cooler weather had something to do with the better times, and the girls are starting to learn the distance and how to pace themselves. He adds Emery Neer has stepped up and ran well in the last two meets. The Panthers run in Oskaloosa Tuesday.
