Without their setter, Pella High’s offense seemed to stumble during their stay in Altoona at the Southeast Polk tournament on Saturday. The Lady Dutch fell in three sets to Des Moines Lincoln, 21 – 12, 17 – 21, and 11 – 15; in straight sets to Nevada, 18 – 21 and 18 – 21; were swept by Valley, 18 – 21 and 14 – 21, and lost in three to Cedar Rapids Jefferson, 15 – 25, 25 – 20, and 11 – 15. Emily Holterhaus had 25 kills over the course of the ten sets. The losses halt Pella’s record at 7 – 6, and they’ll get back to conference play on Tuesday with a match at home against Grinnell.
