The 2015-16 school year has barely started, and already Pella High is being a thorn in Dallas Center – Grimes’ side. The Lady Dutch became the latest to frustrate the Fillies, as they swept them on the road in straight sets, 25 – 19, 25 – 17, and 25 – 19. Perhaps most impressive about the sweep is four different gals in green contributed at least five kills, led by Makenna Bogaard and Emily Holterhaus, who each had seven. Kiara Bradley and Katie Vander Molen had five apiece, and Kiki Pingel served up 21 assists. Pella High improves to 7 – 2, and they’ll participate in the Southeast Polk tournament in Altoona this Saturday. Coach Catie Brand says she enjoys the Rams’ tournament because of the multitude of talent they get to see showcased in front of them. Play in Altoona is scheduled to start on Saturday bright and early at 8:00 a.m.
