The No. 3 Ranked Pella Christian football team is bringing back an array of weapons on their offensive unit in 2015. One of those is slot receiver and H-back Miles Wichhart.

The junior had 450 yards and 8 touchdowns as the primary tailback in 2014, which was 2nd on the team behind David Kacmarynski and Levi Jungling respectively.

Wichhart tells KNIA/KRLS Sports he’s been working hard to acclimate himself to his new position.

“I kind of heard about [the change] in the offseason from David,” Wichhart says. “And when we do workouts and running stuff, I really worked on just getting quicker, and also catching–I caught a lot of balls this summer, and I think I improved a lot on that.”

In his new slot role, Miles caught two passes and had three carries on jet sweep plays against PCM. Junior Sam Fredickson had 55 yards on 13 carries in his debut as the new primary running back.

Pella Christian (1-0) will travel to Lynnville-Sully this Friday, with pregame set to begin at 6:30 and kickoff at 7 p.m. on KRLS2.
