About to make the calendar turn into October and enter the waning weeks of the regular season, the Pella High cross country teams take to the Indianola Middle School course for a meet tonight.

The Little Hawkeye Conference meet in Grinnell is less than three weeks away on October 12, and the boys will have to contend with the No. 1-ranked team in Class 3A, along with Dallas Center – Grimes, and an overall heap of talent to win a league title. The girls’ conference is also stout this year, with parity up and down the L-H-C. Coach Doug Cutler says that in these final races, he would like to see a blob of green cross the finish line together.Tonight’s meet in Indianola is just south of the middle school around the Little League Fields, and is scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m.
