The National Honor Society at Pella High School is holding a special fundraiser during homecoming this week.

Dean of Students Wade Van Vark tells KNIA/KRLS News they are auctioning off Pella Dutch game jerseys for the weekend from the football players themselves.

Van Vark says the funds will benefit NHS programs at the school and a portion will also be donated to The Well Resource Center, as was selected by the football team in exchange for their jerseys.

“The National Honor Society chapter here at the high school needs funding every year to join the national organization,” Van Vark says. “I asked the students for some suggestions, and when it came up fundraiser, they decided they didn’t want it to be about us–they wanted it to be more than that.”

Bidding is open to the public until Thursday at 12 p.m., and jerseys will be available for pickup Thursday after school and Friday during the school day until noon.

Jerseys will need to be returned to the high school by 3:00 p.m. on Monday the 5th. All winning bidders will be required to sign a replacement agreement during pick up.
