The Pella Athletic Boosters have been hard at work building a new multi-team facility at Pella High School this summer.

Boosters’ President Sam Vande Weerd tells KNIA/KRLS News it is located next to the football stadium and will be ready for use later this fall. Vande Weerd says the building will be a locker room for most outdoor fall and spring sports, and includes coaches’ and trainers’ rooms. He says the organization is holding a fundraising drive to help pay for the new building over the next three years.

“A couple of the goals we’ve set, for individuals are to give $3000 over three years, and you’ll be able to be on our recognition wall, and for businesses, we’re asking them to give $10,000 over three years, and they would also be on our recognition wall,” Vande Weerd says.

“As always, we are very grateful for the support we get from the community, and any size gift would be much appreciated.”

The goal is to have the new team room built by Pella High’s homecoming football game against Carlisle on Friday, October 2nd.
