It was a little shaky at first, according to head coach, Catie Brand, but Pella High volleyball got the job done, taking down both Centerville and Chariton in a road triangular on Tuesday. The night started off with a close first-set win over the Chargers, 25 – 18, but the Lady Dutch finished them off with a 25 – 8 thrashing in game two. Despite missing nine serves, Pella made up for with a .341 kill percentage, led by six kills from Natalie Clayberg, and Kristin Rundle had a pair of aces. Pella ended the evening dispatching of Centerville, 25 – 18 and 25 – 16. Clayberg had seven kills to again lead the team against Centerville, and Emily Holterhaus had four blocks. This brings Pella’s record up to 15 – 7, and they are off until Saturday for a tournament in Newton.
