The Pleasantville Football team will attempt to start the season with two straight wins for the first time in Head Coach Gabe Bakker’s tenure.

Coming off a strong defensive effort in a 16-7 victory over Colfax-Mingo, the Trojans will run headfirst into a rebuilding Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont team. The Rockets lost their starting quarterback and leading receiver from last season, but will return leading rusher Treg Van Dorin who rushed for over 1400 yards, and started off 2015 with a 164 yard effort in their opening game loss to Pekin. The Trojans will look to build on their strong running game which accrued 191 yards on the ground last week, including 92 yards on 21 carries from Sawyer Phillips. Coach Bakker said the 14-0 victory over the Rockets a year ago will not influence his team this year. The Pleasantville vs Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont game can be heard live on KNIAKRLS.com via the KNIA3 stream, pregame will begin at 6:30pm and kickoff is scheduled for 7.
