Shayne Anderson

A Virginia man is accused of attempting to deliver a large quantity of marijuana to a nearby college late Tuesday.

Shayne Anderson, 24, was the passenger in a vehicle pulled over by Pella Police on Highway 163 for speeding.

Officers claim the car smelled strongly of marijuana, and found 34 baggies containing the substance weighing approximately 99.5 grams during a probable cause search. Police say Anderson told officers he bought the marijuana for other people and planned to distribute the bags at William Penn University in Oskaloosa.

The driver and another passenger were released at the scene.

Anderson is charged with a controlled substance violation – intent to deliver marijuana, and failure to affix a drug tax stamp, both class D felonies.
