There wasn’t much the Pella Christian football team did wrong last Friday in their 48 – 11 shellacking of PCM. The only minor blemishes appeared to be in the special teams. The Eagles didn’t have to return many punts, despite holding the Mustangs to just 11 points, due to their forcing of six turnovers on defense. Of the three kicks they did return, the Eagles only managed to advance a total of four yards. Gabriel Soler was 4-for-6 in extra points, and the kick-offs and punting for PC need a little bit of tuning. Nothing that can’t be fixed with a little elbow grease, says Coach Rich Kacmarynski. The Eagles’ opponent this Friday also put up a barge full of points in their 2015 debut; Lynnville-Sully defeated Van Buren, 53 – 6. Pella Christian will be on the road for their Week Two trial.
