Men’s cross country, women’s soccer, and women’s tennis all had athletes from Central named performers of the week in the Iowa Conference for their play last week. Sophomore Mark Fairley for the Dutch cross country team won Central’s home meet on Saturday in a time of 26:39, edging Sam Whan of Loras by only a couple of seconds. Fairley’s only other previous top ten finish was at the league meet last year, where he came in tenth. Sydney Lunardi of the women’s soccer team was also tabbed as athlete of the week for her strong in-game performance at the start of their season. In their three games last week, the Dutch goalkeeper allowed only one goal in 225 minutes of play en route to a 3 – 0 mark. Junior Angie Allgood is trying to become a four-time all-Iowa Conference performer, and she got off to a great start to the season by turning in a spotless effort last week, going 4 – 0 combined at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles.
