The excitement is building for another season of racing at the Knoxville Raceway; and while fans and racers alike anticipate the annual sprint car raffle, another raffle is already underway for a car anyone can take home.

The National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum is giving patrons and others the chance to win a brand new Corvette; Bob Baker is Executive Director for the Hall of Fame and Museum, and he tells KNIA/KRLS News this contest is already drawing interest from people hoping to get behind its wheel.

“And they can join the sweepstakes and make a donation to win the brand new Corvette; it’s a 2019 Z06 Corvette that sits inside our museum’s front window. It’s a torch red 2019 Z06 Corvette, and it’s creating quite a lot of interest from a lot of people who’ve never been to Knoxville or been to our museum before,” Baker says.

“So it’s a great door-opener for us, and that is bringing new people to Knoxville and also our museum.”

The car lists at over $82,000; the drawing will take place during Saturday night of Nationals on August 10th.

Meanwhile, the 360 Nationals have a new title sponsor; the Knoxville Raceway says My Place Hotels will be partnering with them to present the event. The chain has locations in Altoona and Ankeny.
