Knoxville’s Clingman and Purvis Hope To Strike State Meet Qualifiers For Indianola In Girls Swimming

Girls swimming teams from around the state will try to qualify for the state meet today. Indianola will host a state qualifier today in hopes of getting swimmers to state. Two Indian swimmers have Knoxville ties and hope to advance to the state competition in Marshalltown. Lauren Clingman is currently ranked 12th among district teams in the 500 yard freestyle and she is also 12th in the 200 yard freestyle. Taylor Purvis also ranks 12th in the 50 yard freestyle and she is 16th in the 100 yard freestyle and ranks 13th in the 100 yard backstroke. Purvis and Clingman also are on the 200 and 400 yard freestyle teams for Indianola. The regional is set to begin at the Indianola Y-M-C-A today at noon.
