Thirteen ladies will perform in two weeks to determine the 2016 Tulip Time Royal Court.

The annual Tulip Queen’s announcement party is Saturday, November 14th at 7:00 p.m., in the Pella Community High School auditorium.

Reigning queen Eleanor Witt was crowned on that night one year ago, and says while it’s sad to see her time end as royalty, she’s excited to see the next group enjoying the experience the same way she did.

“It’s definitely bittersweet, because it was really, really fun year, and it was something that I never expect to happen, so it was really great,” Witt tells KNIA/KRLS News. “But, I think we’re all excited because we know the joy and happiness those girls will feel when they hear their names.”

Reserved tickets will be available for sale for $5.00 on Thursday, November 5th at Scholte Church from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. Any remaining tickets will be on sale at the Vermeer Mill during regular business hours and then at the high school when the doors open at 6:30 p.m. A maximum of twelve tickets will be sold to each person. A live broadcast of the ceremony will air on 92.1 KRLS.
