NCMP Swimming Has Good Showing

The NCMP Swimming team had a good showing at their state qualifying meet in Fort Dodge on Saturday as they finished second as a team with 378.5 points and also had some local swimmers qualify for the State Meet. Samantha Hedrick set the tone for NCMP as she qualified individually in the 100 butterfly and 200 freestyle and also set new school records in those events. Hedrick will also compete in the 200 freestyle relay and 400 freestyle relay with teammates Sarah Predergast, Madeline Webb and Elizabeth Myers. The State Swimming Meet will be Next Friday and Saturday at the Marshalltown Y-M-C-A. Full results can be found below:

Here are the results from the Regional meet. As a team NCMP placed 2nd.
200 Freestyle:
1st: Samantha Hedrick (PHS)-1:52.26 – new school record – state qualified
8th: Madeline Webb (PHS)-2:06.48

100 Butterfly:
1st: Samantha Hedrick (PHS)-55.35 – new school record – state qualified

100 Freestyle:
5th: Madeline Webb (PHS)-56.51

500 Freestyle:
6th: Jessica Zahn (CM) – 5:51.57
13th: Alex Inskeep (PCM) – 6:23.52

200 Freestyle Relay:
4th: Samantha Hedrick (PHS), Alexis Stout (NHS), Sydney Jenkins (NHS), Hannah Rhoads (NHS)-1:40.88 – state qualified

100 Breaststroke:
T5th: Lindsey Blommers (PHS)-1:11.74

400 Freestyle Relay:
3rd: Samantha Hedrick (PHS), Sarah Prendergast (NHS), Madeline Webb (PHS), Elizabeth Myers (NHS)– 3:39.94 – State qualified
