Splitting their league-opening twin bill on Wednesday, the Central women’s and men’s basketball teams return to action this afternoon when they take the bus jaunt up to Waverly for games against Wartburg.

Central’s women will have to take on a tall order and the No. 16-ranked Knights. The Dutch shot less than 15% in the first half against Luther in their 65 – 39 loss. Wartburg cleaned Dubuque’s clock in their conference debut of 2016, pounding the Spartans, 89 – 54. Colby Taylor got off to a hot start in league play with a 29-point, 16-rebound game versus the Norse in Central’s 88 – 74 win. The Knights fell by nine to Dubuque. Wartburg knocked the Dutch out of the league tournament in the first round a year ago. Today’s doubleheader can be heard live on 92.1 KRLS, KNIAKRLS.com, and via our free mobile app. Cory Houser and Jacob Dreyer provide the call with pre-game coverage starting at 1:45 p.m. and tip-off of the women’s game at 2:00.
