Local coaches received honors from the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association at their annual banquet Saturday.

Pella’s Jesse Jablonski received Class 3A Southeast District Coach of the Year, and his assistant Mitch Foster received assistant coach of the year for the same region, regardless of class. Pella High also received a “True Pitch” Diamond Award for the Southeast District.

Sheldon Card of Pleasantville earned Southwest District Coach of the Year in Class 1A after the Trojan’s 2nd place finish at the State Baseball Tournament last summer.

Knoxville Skipper Joel Johnson was also honored for this 30 years of service.
