For the first time since 2004, the Central wrestling team grabbed a dual meet win over Dubuque, coming from behind to prevail, 22 – 18. In fact, it was almost 12 years to the day since their last triumph over the Spartans; the last one came on January 24, 2004. They trailed 15 – 3 at the halfway mark, but Central battled back and won four of their last five to take the meet. The Dutch also grabbed a 44 – 9 easy victory versus Buena Vista, before running into the No. 1 team in the country, Wartburg, and failed to score in a 44 – 0 shutout. Now sitting at 3 – 2 in the Iowa Conference, Central gets a break from the league and will wrestle in Oskaloosa against William Penn this Thursday.
