Coming off a humbling loss to Newton on Saturday, the Knoxville Girls Basketball Squad will step back into South Central Conference play against Centerville tonight. The Panthers are currently in second place by a game in the conference race with Centerville another game back in third. The Panthers were once against beat on the boards in Saturday’s loss to Newton and Coach Jim Utiermarkt tells KNIA/KRLS Sports winning the rebound battle usually translates to winning the game. The boys will face a struggling but athletic Big Reds team that is 3-4 on the season. In Saturday’s loss to Newton the Panthers struggled to shot the ball early on and fell into a double digit deficit. Coach Jeff Larson told KNIA/KRLS he liked the way his players fought back to close that gap late in game.
