The Knoxville Boys Basketball Squad was looking for someone to pound after a heartbreaking loss on Saturday. Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont provided the perfect victim as the Panthers trounced the Rockets 80-59 last night. The Panthers had the lead as high as 34 points when the Panthers coasted to the finish. The Panthers also shot well from the three point range as they drained 14/20 shots. Coach Jeff Larson told KNIA/KRLS Sports transition baskets also help his team. Chase Larson scored 20 points to lead all scorers as Knoxville improves to nine-and-five on the season and eight-and-two on the South Central Conference. The girls were unable to make shots in a 51-35 loss to Eddyville-Blakeburg last night. Knoxville managed to keep pace in the rebounding but the Rockets outscored Knoxville 14-5 in the second quarter and held a 22-7 lead at the half. The Panthers were led by Shaye Nichols and Carrie Chambers with 11 points each. Knoxville falls to 11-5 on the season and 9-2 in the conference. The Panthers host Centerville on Friday.
