Knoxville got back on the winning track with two wins over Centerville last night as the girls grinded out a 36-22 win. Points were hard to come by as Knoxville all but shut down the Redettes, however Knoxville’s cold shooting kept Centerville close for most of the game until Knoxville made a late run to seal the game away. Carrie Chambers scored 15 points to lead Knoxville and Emily Wallace had 11. Knoxville is now 6-3 on the season and 5-1 in the South Central Conference. The boys took control early on and coasted to a 75-50 win over the Big Reds. Knoxville shot well from the field and took advantage of mistakes by Centerville. Coach Jeff Larson told KNIA/KRLS after a slow start to the second half which allowed the Big Reds to close to within 11, his players turned up the effort to close the game out. Cade McNeill scored 22 points to lead Knoxville who improves to 5-3 on the season and four-and-one in the conference. Both teams will be at Albia on Friday.
