A Knoxville mother is appreciative of the efforts The Grand Theater is making to accommodate children and adults in wheelchairs who wish to see children’s movies that have been shown in the upstairs theater that isn’t handicapped accessible.

Amy Leavitt tells KNIA/KRLS News that when a parent made a request for a screening of a children’s movie in the larger handicapped accessible downstairs theater, The Grand provided a viewing the next day. The Grand Foundation President Dylan Morse says the movie, “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip,” was closing the day after, so the screening was arranged on short notice. Morse says to plan on special screenings in the future, and earlier notice will be provided so more can attend.
