Both PCM Mustangs squads were hit hard in their efforts for Pride of Iowa conference wins last night against the Tigers of Gilbert last night with the girls falling 40-31 and the boys dropping 57-52.

The girls were attempting to recover after playing defending state champion and top ranked Nevada on Tuesday, and brought their tough defensive intensity to the home court. Despite balanced scoring around the stat sheet, there simply was not enough of it as the Mustangs offense just couldn’t produce enough to keep up with the Tigers. The Mustangs fall to 6-5. The boys had higher expectations coming off a big win at Nevada and were playing Gilbert for the first place spot in the Heart of Iowa Conference. Logan Gilman and Luke Greiner each had a double double combining for 39 points and 23 rebounds, but the rest of the team struggled from the field and it lead to the Mustangs first home loss since December 15th. PCM Head Coach Fred Lorenson said that if the other players can produce that his team will be one to be reckoned with. The Mustangs drop to 7-3, and both girls and boys will next play at home next Tuesday against Greene County.
