The Pella Lady and Little Dutch made short work of rival Oskaloosa in a pair of games in their home gym heard live on 92.1 KRLS.

Both the girls and boys basketball teams were winners 67-29 and 82-43 respectively in contests that were out of hand early.

The Lady Dutch pulled away just as they did earlier this week in impressive fashion, jumping out to a 22-3 lead after one quarter. Head Coach Jerod Garland says he’s been impressed with the growth of their fastbreak offense.

Pella’s girls were led by 17 points from Katie Vandermolen and six points, seven rebounds, and a pair of steals by Annika Pingel.

Defensively, the boys were able to recapture the style of play they are accustomed to, picking the pockets of Osky 10 times in the first half.

Junior Drew Pringle tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the team was focused on their defensive aggression after Tuesday’s game.

Ryan Van Wyk finished with 14 points, followed by nine from Noah Clayberg, who also had a pair of steals.

Pella has a quick turnaround, as they make the short trip to PCM today for boys-girls doubleheader that begins at 1 p.m. in Monroe.
