The Pella Christian girls basketball team snapped a lengthy losing streak, and the boys dropped their first game in more than a decade against Oskaloosa in a doubleheader Tuesday night.

The Eagles girls earned a 57-41 win, and the boys fell 54-51 in home games heard live on KNIAKRLS.com.

For the girls, it was a much welcome victory after dropping five straight against some of the toughest competition in the state.

Head Coach Kevin Van Maanen says they were able to play higher quality basketball against an improving Indians squad.

Cailey Terpstra led the girls with 20 points and a pair of steals, and Natalie Vos has scored six, snagged eight rebounds and grabbed four steals.

Pella Christian’s boys fell to Oskaloosa for the first time since January 2006 in the game they led throughout the majority of.
