Two of the tougher teams in the Little Hawkeye Conference await Pella Christian’s girls’ and boys’ basketball squads this week. The Eagles will first play host to Grinnell inside of the Tulip City. Pella Christian’s girls are just a last-second three-pointer away from riding a four-game winning streak, but enter play with back-to-back wins over Saydel and Earlham. The Tigers have entered the rankings in Class 4A with their 9 – 3 record; Grinnell is 12th in the state, and their three losses have all been by five points or less. Pella Christian’s boys are 6 – 1, and start a busy week with Grinnell this evening, Dallas Center – Grimes on Friday, and a visit to a potential state tournament team in Des Moines Christian on Saturday. Head Coach Larry Hessing knows it will be a tough match-up tonight to begin the gauntlet-run with the Tigers. Cory Houser and Wynne Veenstra will have the call on 92.1 KRLS, KNIAKRLS.com, and on our free mobile app. Pre-game coverage will begin at 5:45 p.m.
