The Pleasantville Girls Basketball team fell to Clarke at home last night 44-31 in a game where offense was tough to come by for both teams.

Despite holding the Indians to 36 points until the final minutes, the Trojans could not capitalize on their strong defensive effort. Bailey Oliva continued her strong run with 12 points, and Kelsee Van Haalen scored 6. Inconsistent shooting from outside has plagued the Trojans this season, and Head Coach Aaron Fichter tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that his team missed too many open layups and shots, you simply aren’t going to win if you can’t capitalize on those. The girls fall to 4-11 on the season. The Boys would be quite the opposite of the girls contest scoring wise, as the Trojans would overpower the Indians 75-69 lead by Brady Elder’s 33 points and 22 points from Mac Harken and move to 10-4. Both squads continue their busy week and hit the court tonight against Martensdale-St Mary’s at home in a game that can be heard live on KNIAKRLS.com via the KNIA3 stream starting at 6pm.
