Sitting atop the Iowa Conference standings, the Central men’s basketball team will accompany the women to Cedar Rapids for a doubleheader tonight with Coe. The Dutch knocked off Loras to complete a perfect week at home on Saturday, and are 3 – 1 entering play. They beat both Dubuque and the Duhawks despite their star junior, Colby Taylor, scoring just 22 points combined in the two wins. The Kohawks were defeated by Luther, and are winless through four league games, a fact that Coach Craig Douma calls a bit frightening. The Central women dropped by over 20 to Loras, and are 1 – 3 in the IIAC, but feature the reigning conference player of the week, Emily Dine, who went 14-for-28 shooting and tied a school record with seven against the Spartans seven days ago. Coe’s women are 10 – 5 overall and also sport a 1 – 3 league mark. Tonight’s doubleheader in Cedar Rapids will tip-off at 6:00 p.m.
