In the past the night when Pride of Iowa Conference power Nodaway Valley was put on the basketball schedule, Pleasantville knew that they would be in for a tough night. This year was no different, but the Trojan Boys used the confidence they earned from an upset win earlier this week against Central Decatur to power themselves over the Wolverines in a 62-55 victory.

Point guard Brady Elder and forward Zeb Adreon expanded on their strong games from Teusday, Elder dropping 25 points and Adreon contributing 17, with the two combining to go 8-9 from the line included a perfect 6-6 in the final minute. The boys survived a 31 point effort from the Wolverines Jackson Lamb, and Pleasantville Head Coach Joel Allman said that his teams defense was the key, especially in the first quarter. The girls played a solid defensive game against Nodaway, but finding the bottom of the net proved too tough for the Trojans in a 43-25 loss. The girls have now dropped four straight conference games, and are now 3-6 on the season. The boys go to 6-2, and both squads will play later today at Chariton.
