Now that they have seven games under their belt, many of the athletes on a young Pella Christian girls’ basketball team are acclimated to the varsity level. In what could be characterized as an up-and-down first part of the season, the Eagles have absorbed some more basketball knowledge, especially against larger competition, that should help them the rest of the way. Coach Kevin Van Maanen is hopeful that the team can spend just a little less time thinking, and reacting quicker to certain situations. After their game on Tuesday with Norwalk, they’ll split from the boys and stay at home to play another Heart of Iowa Conference school, Saydel, on Thursday, with a test against Earlham on Saturday.
