Escaping with a slim win over Loras on Tuesday, the Central men’s basketball team heads back to Dubuque this evening for the semifinals of the Iowa Conference tournament to face the Spartans.

The two teams split the season series, but most recently, this past Saturday in fact, Dubuque stifled Central’s offense in a 67 – 57 victory over the Dutch. Coach Craig Douma’s team did not shoot the ball all that well five nights ago; they made less than 17% of their long-range jumpers, and turned the ball over 18 times. The Dutch will be hoping for a performance like they turned in on Tuesday, where four players found double-figures, and Pete Walker scored a career-high 30 points. This evening’s game in Dubuque will tip-off at 7:00 p.m., and the winner gets a berth into the league championship match on Saturday versus either Wartburg or Buena Vista at a site still to be determined by tonight’s outcomes.
