Swept on their home court over a week ago, Central basketball will try and return the favor tonight in Indianola against Simpson. The Storm men turned 22 Dutch turnovers into 23 points in an 86 – 78 win in meeting numero uno. Central’s strong start fizzled out as they were held to 31% shooting in the second half, after going 17-of-25 from the field in the first 20 minutes. A win by the Dutch would keep them at most one game out of the top two slots in the Iowa Conference race. Central’s women have lost six straight, but hung with the Storm on January 27, falling 65 – 54. They had a lead at the half of that game, but turnovers were costly, and Simpson was able to convert more second-chance opportunities. Today’s rivalry doubleheader can be heard in a multitude of ways; live on 92.1 KRLS, AM 1320, or FM 95.3 KNIA, KNIAKRLS.com, or via our free mobile app. Cory Houser, Jacob Dreyer, and Rick Wilson all will provide play-by-play in some shape or form starting at 1:45 p.m. with tip-off slated for 2:00.
