A tough day for the Pleasantville wrestling team was had at the second day of the state tournament at Wells Fargo Arena.

Sawyer Phillips and Chaz Clark would both be entered into the quarterfinals at 152lbs and 195lbs respectively, Phillips would emerge victorious with an 8-4 decision, while Clark would join teammates Griffin McBride at 14lbs and Will Anthony at 285lbs in the consolation bracket with a loss by fall in 1:50.

Several more consolation rounds would take place yesterday, McBride would win a 12-5 decision and then lose by fall at 1:39 in the next round putting him in the 7th place match to take place this morning. Clark would lose his consolation match by fall in 1:02 eliminating him from the tournament. Will Anthony would win his first match by fall at 1:50, then lose the next match by fall at 1:33 to set him up for a 7th place match this morning as well.

Sawyer Phillips would lose his semifinal matchup in the afternoon session, which sends him to the consolation bracket where he will fight for 3rd place with a win, or 5th place with a loss.
