The parity of the Little Hawkeye Conference did not do the Pella Christian boys any favors. The Eagles, for the first time in a few seasons, have to play a first round game in the Class 2A district tournament. Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont will enter the Tulip City on February 15, with the winner to travel over to Pleasantville for a district semifinal match-up. The Eagles last played a round-one affair in the 2013-14 season, when they went 4 – 7 in the Games 5 – 15 grading period. Their mark was 8 – 7 for this season’s seeding, during which the Eagles had to face Newton, Dallas Center – Grimes, Norwalk, and Grinnell. They also had to have two contests with Pella High in that timeframe. Six of those seven losses were by less than eight points. The Eagles have to buckle down and try to break a four-game losing streak when they are visited by Knoxville on Friday night.
