The town of Bussey is rallying to save Katy-Did’s general store.
The store was owned by Kathy Evans, who died three years ago after a battle with cancer. Daughter Candy Evans, who took over the store, says the building and her home are facing foreclosure because of her mother’s medical bills. Approximately $100,000 is still owed. Kathy had no insurance, and when she passed away the store and home were in her name. As the town is rallying to save the store, Candy tells KNIA/KRLS News she is very grateful for their help, and her mother would be as well. Evans says if her mother were still around, she would be giving out hugs and saying thank you to everyone. A Go-Fund-Me account to help save the store has been established.
