After the Little Hawkeye Conference gauntlet that the Knoxville Girls Basketball Squad ran for the last couple of weeks, the Panthers get rewarded in the first round of the class 4A regional with, yet another L-H-C team. Norwalk comes to Knoxville to help the Panthers open up the regional tonight. While Knoxville has a better record at 13-8 than Norwalk at 9-12, the Warriors have played better competition this season. However, Panthers Coach Jim Uitermarkt hopes the last couple weeks playing the Little Hawkeye Conference teams have helped get his team ready and thinks his team matches up with the Warriors. The Panthers are also unsure of which Norwalk will show up. The Warriors leading scorer, Tori Van Velzen…has been out of the line up the last three games with an undisclosed injury. Uitermarkt says regardless, his team will have to be ready to play. You can hear the call on AM 1320 and 95.3 KNIA and kniakrls.com with Derek Cardwell and Nathan Winters at 6:40.
