A spot in the class 3A sub state for the first time since 2005 is in front of the Knoxville Boys Basketball Squad tonight. However…standing in the Panthers’ way is a team that has been a thorn in the side of Knoxville for the last few seasons, Chariton. The Chargers are 21-1 on the season with their only loss to Grinnell. The Panthers know they can play with Chariton evidence in their seven point loss in the first meeting and a one point loss in overtime in the second meeting. In that January game, the Chargers got nearly all of their scoring from their top three players T-J Hockenson, Daric Laing, and Lim Chuol (Chool). Coach Jeff Larson tells KNIA/KRLS Sports, his guys have to get open and limit Chariton’s big three. You can hear the call on AM 1320 and 95.5 KNIA and kniakrls.com with Derek Cardwell and Nathan Winters starting with the pre-game at 6:40.
