Overall, it was a great night on the lanes for the Pella High and Pella Christian bowling teams on Tuesday night. Each school had one individual make it to the state bowling tournament next week in Des Moines. Pella’s boys as a team finished second to Urbandale, scoring a total of 2,761. Urbandale wound up with a 2,933 total match score. Cameron Miller had the high game and series for the Dutch and advanced as an individual to the Class 2A meet on Tuesday. Miller, a senior, rolled a 439 series, including a 245 game to help lead the charge for Pella. The Lady Dutch were led by Taylor Divelbiss’ 304 series. Pella Christian’s girls were very impressive, falling just short of reaching the state meet as a team. The Eagles put up a 2,062 score, just 154 pins less than Fairfield, who won with 2,216. Anna Burg was an individual medalist and will roll for a solo title on Monday in the Class 1A state tournament. PC’s boys were third as a team with a 2,271; Cole Morgan was fifth individually, rolling a 375. Full results for both schools can be found below. The state meet is held at Plaza Lanes in Des Moines next Monday-through-Wednesday.
