Former conference foes, Pella High and Knoxville’s boys will end Monday night in a contest between two surging teams. The Panthers have won seven of their last ten games, with two of those losses coming against Oskaloosa by four, and in overtime to a ranked Chariton team by one. Knoxville has done so by shooting well from beyond the arc; they made 14 downtown jumpers against Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, repeated the feat against Albia, and shot well against Pella Christian on Friday. Pella High has done nothing but surge this season; with a 16 – 1 record, the Little Dutch claimed their second straight Little Hawkeye Conference title by topping Norwalk, 67 – 57 before the weekend. Coach Mark Core says his guys need to be wary of an improved Knoxville team. It’s the final home game of the regular season for Pella’s boys and the call on both sides can be heard on 92.1 KRLS, AM 1320 and FM 95.3 KNIA immediately following the girls’ game.
