They have had, in essence, more than two days of rest since their last postseason game, and the Pella High boys’ basketball team is ready to take on Bondurant-Farrar this evening for the Class 3A District 13 championship.

Tonight’s game will be played at a neutral site, one that Pella is very familiar with: at Norwalk High School. Unfamiliar or familiar with the setting, there’s no such thing as a “tough place to play,” according to Coach Mark Core, and he says the game will simply come down to who’s the better team. In their first meeting in December, the Bluejays fought hard with the Little Dutch, and even led for most of the way. Core tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that Bondurant-Farrar intentionally slowed down the pace and tried to control the tempo in that contest, and will probably do the same again tonight. He adds his team will try and push the action, as they have all season. The winner of the game moves on to the substate game at Johnston versus either Ballard or Nevada this Monday. You can hear the call live on 92.1 KRLS, KNIAKRLS.com, and via our free mobile app. Cory Houser and Mike Buchheit will have the play-by-play with pregame coverage starting at 6:40 p.m. and tip-off at 7:00.
