Putting out a much better second half than they did versus Dubuque on Saturday, the Central men’s basketball team extended their season by at least one more game by defeating Loras for the third time this season on Tuesday, 84 – 79, in the first round of the Iowa Conference tournament. The Dutch committed just 12 turnovers and had four players in double figures, thanks to nearly 44% shooting from the field. They were spurred by Pete Walker’s career-high 30 points and 11-for-16 shooting effort. Colby Taylor also put in 21. Central improves to 17 – 9 on the season, and they’ll play in Dubuque for the fourth-straight game, this time against the Spartans tomorrow night in the league semifinals.
