The Pella High boys’ and girls’ basketball teams have a chance tonight to combine for just one Little Hawkeye Conference loss this season if they can take down Oskaloosa over in Mahaska County. Both Pella teams had no problem with the Indians the first time around, winning by 38 and 39 points back on January 15. The Lady Dutch put up a 67 – 29 final score and held Oskaloosa to 11-for-42 shooting on the night in their victory. Aside from their win over Knoxville, Pella’s girls have played in three games decided by six points or less, including a 66 – 63 triumph over Newton on Tuesday. Assistant coach, Wade Van Vark, says that these are the games the team needs to play in with what’s coming up in about a week. Coach Mark Core wants to see another full, 32-minute effort from his Little Dutch against Osky tonight, a team they beat 82 – 43 last month. Tonight’s doubleheader will be live on 92.1 KRLS, KNIAKRLS.com, and via our free mobile app. Cory Houser has the play-by-play with tip-off scheduled for 6:15 p.m.
