A girl/boy doubleheader last night in Gilbert would be a contrast in two teams had different results from the floor shooting wise. The Lady Mustangs could not miss in the fourth quarter in a 56-47 victory, while the boys struggled to find the bottom of the net in a 58-46 loss to the Tigers.

The girls would battle back and forth and have a 22-20 halftime lead, but the shooting would heat up in half number two. Kayla Jennings would score 17 second half points, and the team as a whole would knock down five second half triples after making none in half number one, and outscore the Tigers 34 to 27. Head Coach Jeff Lindsay said that the girls are starting to have fun while playing, and its a great thing to watch. The Lady Mustangs improve to 12-9, and the game ends their regular season. They will next play in the postseason against Clarke on Saturday. The boys would end the first quarter with a 10-9 lead, but things would go quickly downhill from there. The Mustangs would be outscored 37-17 in the next two quarters, and leading scorer Logan Gilman was held scoreless in the first half. The Mustangs still have some work to do in the regular season, they will travel to play Greene County on Friday.
